I love the holiday season, i like cold weather (the low 60's) and enjoy seeing family and going to holiday events like company christmas parties, and other various christmas related get-togethers.
What amazes me this year is not how many of us as christians are concerned with saying merry christmas over happy holidays, but how much of a focus we put on celebrating Jesus birth. I know that christmas is a time when we are supposed to do this, but i wonder if we were just as concerned about it the rest of the year, and our lives were an outpouring of gratitude for the gift of God's son.. what would our relationships look like?
As christians we are blessed beyond belief with the gift of eternal life with Christ, on his dime. I know that it isn't the most profound, or better put "deep" sound truth that Jesus died for my sins, but it is, and if i could manage to live in an attitude of gratefulness as i approached each new day, i would more than likely be walking in who God created me to be, and enjoying Him. This brings more glory to God than trying to convert the greeter at Walmart to say Merry Christmas.
I think this year i want to try to keep the remembrance of Christ's birth and what he did for me going past the holiday season...
oh yeah and here is a holiday photo of the family....

P.S. Steve... Audrey would like to call a truce for the holidays.... but no longer.

Thanks for the good thoughts and the glorious picture of your family. If that's a card...I best be getting one! Love you guys...and in the voice of arnold, "we'll be back!"
I suppose that will be fine. But if I get one dirty look the truce is off.
Very true.
